Mommy hat is on today and I didn’t know what to expect. I had to take the twins to the dentist and wanted to get a foundational visit for their teeth. They had been to the dentist when they were toddlers and everything looked great. Now that they were 10 approaching 11 really quickly, I wanted to ensure the development of their teeth was in order and see if I needed to be aware of any concerns.
There we were at the dentist office and the twins were excited for their cleaning and xrays. It has been a minute since I’ve been to the dentist. The new technology has always fascinated me and how they xrayed the twins teeth. I was happy to see it wasn’t that piece of equipment you put in your mouth and you just know you will never be able to close your mouth again this THING is soo huge. No, none of that. I was very pleased to see that.
So I stood there and watched them xray both kids – they put them in adjoining rooms so I could stand in the middle. BIG PLUS!! The kids enjoyed looking over at each other. Xrays were done and they begin explaining to me what was happening with each child’s teeth. Teeth are good overall. Have some baby teeth that need to be extracted because permanent teeth are there and need the room. Extraction wouldn’t take place today – we need a course of action.
They put fluoride on the kids teeth (I agreed this one time) and sealants for their molars. More later on the fluoride. LOL!! After being there for 45 minutes and we went up to pay. The bill was supposed to be a little over $1,200 and I presented them with my Ameriplan Healthcare card which has dental as well and the bill came down to $316. OH YEA talk about a happy mommy!! That’s the way to do it.
The kids were thrilled. They got tooth brushes and scheduled for another appointment in three weeks. If you would like more information about the dental plan, go to www.apdentalplan.com/twagner .
